Transfer data

ESDAT has built-in methods to enable sharing of data between organisations.

Share data between ESDAT Users

If a user does not have access to the database, it can be easily compressed and transfered, often by e-mail.  This enables both parties to analyse and discuss the same data interactively using ESDAT.

ESDAT over the Internet

An ESDAT database can be hosted on a web server.  These databases are accessible over the Internet to ESDAT users with a pointer file to the database and an appropriate login.

Import Laboratory or Field Data

Data can be imported directly from laboratories, or entered to a PDA in the field

Receive data from Non-ESDAT users

Often one company may be collecting data for another, and the data is subsequently imported to ESDAT.  Excel based Import Templates are used to enter the data.  These can be populated, e-mailed and the data directly imported.

Send data to Non-ESDAT users

ESDAT offers the following export options for non-ESDAT data use:
  1. Produce an automated electronic report containing maps, graphs, tables and the digital data.
  2. Export data to ArcGIS shape files
  3. Export data to MapInfo MIF files
  4. Export data to Excel
  5. Send the database for opening in Access (both Access and SQL Server versions).  The database is intuitive to navigate.
