Lab Sample Planning, Electronic Custody and Signoff

ESdat has always been designed to work with site data. Now the LSpecs extension for ESdat in combination with PLog Environmental provides a complete data tracking and data management system from before field work, during fieldwork, through data validation and reporting. 

Before Fieldwork:

• electronic Sample Planning (specify where you want samples collected, and what you want analysed);
• print and upload the Sample Plan to your PDA running PLog Environmental.

After Fieldwork:

• imports your electronic Chain of Custody (eCOCTM) and borehole logging data from PLog Environmental, review, and submit your laboratory COC electronically.

Upon Receipt of Lab Reports

• matches details of samples submitted (including QA samples) and the samples reported by the laboratory.
• compares analysis requests and deliverables. 
• tracks laboratory reports received, their acceptance status and associated comments.

The following Integrated Workflow Manager is provided with LSpecs to assist users in following the correct steps. This incorporates some steps that are already available in ESdat (green buttons).
